'breaking-in-my-first-raw-denim' experiment

My brother in law infected my husband with the raw denim virus. After some years, a couple of visits to different stores specialised in denim, many accompanied buys of my husband, washing moments, etc. it is time for me to experience the dry experience.

I bought my first selvedge, the 'petit new standard' by A.P.C. at Tenue de Nimes in Amsterdam. The petit new standard is a unisex model. According to my husbie it's a 'heavy' one (exactly 14,50 oz) for a first try. I usually wear a 26 in my Tiger of Sweden Kelly or a 25 in Levi's high-rise. But I recommend sizing up for this model. With 100% cotton this very stiff Japanese raw denim will wear in over time. Let's see how that will work out for me!

If you are new to the 'dry', 'selvedge' and 'raw' terms, read the essential raw denim breakdown article.

I've decided to keep a journal about the 'breaking-in-my-first-raw-denim' experiment. Keep you posted!
